Example of positive virality - "GiveBackFilms"

Three months ago, video buffs in the US started a YouTube channel where they share money, pay an exorbitant tip or pay the next person's bill for random people - homeless, waiters, drive-ins, gas lines, etc. To date, the videos have received a fair amount of media attention and have garnered nearly 10 million views.

The last video, where a good cleaner gets a 500 USD tip, was uploaded 2 days ago:

In the channel description explained: "Here at GiveBackFilms, we have been fortunate enough to be in a better position than a lot of people in the world. For that reason, we want to give back, and that is what our channel is all about!”

DriveInIn the video where they pay the next party's bill at the Drive-In restaurant, the chain continued, i.e. the person whose Estonian was paid paid the bill of the next person himself.

It must be admitted that there is little positivity in today's online media, because what sells and invites comments is more what is written, where and what is wrong. Rate, for example, DELFI or Postimehe's last 10 news. In this blog, too, most of the stories are rather with a critical eye, because I try to show what could be done better.

The naysayers can, of course, also claim in the case of GiveBackFilms that it is a "Extreme Makeover” type of TV show format, where by helping random people you actually make a profit at the expense of viewers, i.e. advertising sales, but anyone can do their daily good deed, even by helping across the street in the old fashioned way, even today. Although it can also collect over 2.4 million views:

Summary

There is nothing wrong with a good deed, even if it can be used to earn money after a while. The DELFI comment section certainly does not agree with the statement that a good deed should be filmed, but it is possible that it will inspire others as well.

Greater attention also allows us to ask for support, perhaps there are certainly people and companies in Estonia whose economic situation would allow us to shoulder similar projects.
