Why are we watching more video ads than ever in 2014?

According to ComScore last year, video viewing rose by 4%. Online video ads at the same time 205%. Marketers have realized that if people like to watch videos, it's also a place to show ads.

DELFI has very actively started its own in Estonia DELFI TV project, sports, politics and other events are often shown live. At the same time, it has been realized that paying for live streaming a few years ago is not worth it because people like to watch things for free. Since there are no free lunches, someone has to pay for the cinema, i.e. viewers are often forced to watch sold-out commercials before, after and during breaks, for example, before seeing the Kalev Cramo vs UT Rock game, similar to television.

LveRail has put together a simple infographic that explains why we're seeing more video ads this year than ever before:

What can we learn from this?

The viewer must understand that free lunches mean that the meal has to be accompanied by the message that the person who pays for the cinema wants to show.

"Cinema payers" that is at the same time, advertisers could think about content that speaks more to the viewer. Does showing a running Whiskas ad on TV before a basketball match also work on the target group, or could we think of a slightly different solution?

Using the example of the basketball world, a commercial clip shown during the break could invite you to your website, where you could view the best presentations of the previous month, layups, shots that hit the break... and, among other things, a soccer fan's fuel card, home insurance, etc. would be offered.
