How to go live on YouTube?

YouTube videos show what has already worked, but in the near future it will be possible to show more and more people what is currently happening, i.e. broadcast your events live via YouTube.

Live broadcasts on YouTube are nothing new - who, for example, does not remember the peak of last year Red Bull Stratos event with over 8 million viewers or occurred a year earlier broadcast of the royal wedding.

If this year in May, YouTube announced, that all channels with more than 1,000 subscribers, whose account is in good standing, can use the live broadcast option, then message from a few weeks ago promises in the near future live stream for channels that have at least 100+ subscriber.

To set up your live broadcast, you need to start by reading over 20 pages of technical background information and recommendations to get you started from here, but it is worth checking beforehand whether in the channel settings enabling it is possible.

Also YouTube Playbook has got a new chapter live stream for production, which emphasizes the need for prior testing and what to do before, during, and after the live broadcast.

Summary

Live broadcasts on the Internet are nothing new, but there are still few people who would use the world's largest video environment for their broadcasts.

The understanding that YouTube is not only a video environment, but a social media channel, where creating a fan base is as important as on Facebook, has not yet reached Estonia. For example According to SocialBakers there are less than 10 companies/organizations in Estonia with more than 1,000 subscribers and a total of around a dozen or so with more than 100 fans. Before making a live broadcast, it is important that it also has viewers.

VideoTurundus.ee also offers live internet broadcasts, if interested be in touch.
