Subtitles allow both the viewer and the YouTube search engine to better understand the content of the video. Subtitles added in other languages increase the target audience of the video, but subtitles in their own language also make it easier to reach those who cannot hear the sound of the video (a'la in the office or hard of hearing).

It is not recommended to add the credits to the video in the montage, but to do it using a separate file that is added to the video after it is uploaded. In this case, an unlimited number of different languages can be added to the video, and it is also more useful in terms of SEO.

It's on the internet several free programs, which can be used to create temporal subtitle files (a'la Amara), but when creating subtitles for a video, it is worth noting that YouTube may not automatically show the video with subtitles. For this, the viewer has to make 3 additional clicks: settings-subtitles-language

There is a very simple way to force YouTube to show subtitles automatically - add video to keywords: yt:cc=on

If you want to add the video to the website and want it to show subtitles, add the embedded code: cc_load_policy=1 and if you have subtitles in several languages, but you want the video added to a specific page to have subtitles in another language, specify the language with the extension: &hl=es&cc_lang_pref=es (where "ee" specifies the language, in this case Estonian). For example, the video code added to the home page with subtitles could look something like this:

Consider how much time and/or money you spent to produce your video. Adding subtitles to a video is an easy way to reach more people.
